This portrays a great example of not giving opportunity. As Malcolm Gladwell portrays in his book Outliers, success does not only rely on work, but great opportunity to display your efforts. The older kids in the group have physically matured earlier, they gain skills faster, get better coaching, thus getting placement on special teams with more resources and further progressing their opportunity for success. The cycle continues.
