A good start for Houston!

Many Americans underestimate other cities besides New York and Los Angeles. Many cities have value that over power that of NY and LA. Houston meets the criteria of Americas best kept secret. Houston has a great location in sub-tropical weather, friendly people, low cost of living, plenty of jobs (unlike its competitors in California), and now Houston has a great energy plan in place!  On November 18th NRG Energy a Houston company unveiled its beginning plan to set up 150 charging stations, for electric cars, in and around downtown at various Walgreen's.  The company announced that it will spend more than 10 million dollars to build the charging stations, and charge the user a flat fee.

"That's a very attractive market for the electric industry," said NRG chief executive David Crane. For a charging station at home NRG will charge forty nine dollars a month and for seventy nine dollars a month you can get access to more than fifty stations around the city. For eighty nine dollars you can have both home and city access. Electric companies should be pile driving against the oil industry for this movement! General electric does have a division of GE oil and gas, but its main component remains electricity. Electric energy companies should be jumping on even the thought of public interest in changing fuel types.  This remains a great step forward in the direction of interest and change of heart for people thinking of the big oil tycoons in Houston.
